Oskar - a little heartbreaker is looking for his people! 🏡🐶 Approximate size: 40-45cm Location: Romania 🐾💙 Oskar - a little heartbreaker is looking for his people! 🏡🐶 Age: approximately 3 months (as of 05.10.2026) Friendly, lively, playful like a puppy Sometimes a little dog's life begins with a story that no one wants to hear... 💔 Oskar was abandoned in the forest with his five siblings at just about 1.5 months old. 🌲🐾 Too young to take care of themselves, the six puppies were in need of help. When they were found, they were covered in fleas and ticks. 😔 Luckily, Oskar and his siblings were discovered and cared for in time. After a veterinary examination and treatment, they were allowed to recover and have since been vaccinated. 🩺❤️ Today, Oskar is a happy, curious and playful little guy, full of energy. 🥰🐶 He loves to explore his surroundings, play and learn new things. And especially nice: Oskar is open and fearless around people. 💙 Now he can finally look forward and focus on what a young dog should experience: play, learn, cuddle and discover the world. 🐾✨ Of course, Oskar still has a lot on his agenda. 📚🐶 He wants to learn the dog basics, house training, leash training and much more. With loving consistency, patience and a lot of time together, he will certainly become a wonderful family dog. 🏡💙 What he's missing now? His very own people. 🥹❤️ A family that gives him security, lovingly accompanies him and shows him that his difficult start was only a small part of his story. 🐾💙 Do you want to give Oskar his forever home? 🏡 Oskar is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, not yet neutered and has a veterinary check-up, and is in possession of an EU pet passport. All our dogs travel with official Traces papers and Section 11 approval to Germany. Our dogs are additionally tested for Mediterranean diseases with a rapid test. The deposit is €520 plus €30 for the purchase of the safety harness. Note: When we assign our dogs to certain breeds, we are orienting ourselves exclusively on the external appearance and observable behavior (phenotype). That is: This assignment is made to the best of the association's knowledge and conscience as well as the participating veterinarians. However, these information do not necessarily correspond to the actual genetic makeup (genotype), because the reliable determination of this would only be possible through a DNA analysis. In addition, the behavioral and character description of the respective animal is based on careful observations by the animal rescuers on site or by the respective foster families. It should be noted that these assessments relate exclusively to the current local conditions in the rescue centers or foster families. It is important to understand that the little furball will change after a successful

🏡💙 Was ihm jetzt noch fehlt? About Oskar

What life with Oskar looks like

Oskar is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Rescued Souls e.V. in Pfinztal.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oskar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oskar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rescued Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oskar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oskar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rescued Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oskar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oskar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rescued Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oskar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
