Oti

Mixed Breed · Female

Hello, my name is Oti, I am a few years old, large female dog of German shepherd type. I was born on April 17, 2016, and I came to the animal shelter on December 22, 2022. My previous owner brought me, who took me from people on the olx.pl portal. Unfortunately, she did not have a permanent place of residence. After my grandmother died, we had nowhere to go, which is why she gave me away. On the day of acceptance, the animal shelter staff noticed that I have ear problems, which is why they are now slightly inflamed. My previous owner had a health book from my previous family. I have up-to-date vaccinations, and I was treated for fleas in the shelter. From the beginning, I have a very good contact with people, I am happy to see every person. However, during walks I often have a "blockage", I stop and don't want to go further. I feel completely safe in the animal shelter. Of course, the staff and volunteers will not let me do that and will work together with me to overcome my barriers, they never give up. I also will not give up in my hope for a new home! I suffer from hypothyroidism and take Forhyron. Monthly cost:

About Oti

What life with Oti looks like

Oti is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
