Otti

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Otti has found her home! Her story: In Baia Mare, Romania, Kenai, Koda, Tapio, Scout, Mingo, and sister Otti are waiting to find their families. These lovely, lively puppies have endured the challenging realities of shelter life. They are beautiful, active German Shepherd mixes; in Tapio and Otti you can also spot signs of a herding or guard dog. Cuddles and attention are very welcome to them. In a stable environment with patient people who bring the right mix of will, consistency, and love, they will surely thrive and become integral family members. Currently, they are 4 months old and are expected to reach a medium size. The fluffy fur of Otti is super soft and plush, with black-and-white fur and 4 white socks, making her an incredibly cute puppy girl. Her friendly and lively demeanor towards people, as well as her playfulness, make her a very special companion. As is common with young puppies, she loves to play all day with her siblings and explore the world. But so far, she hasn't seen much of the world yet. Otti would be very grateful to find a family that offers her a loving home. A family that enjoys long walks with her, exploring the woods, or going on a trip to the dog park together. Since Otti is a herding or guard dog mix, her family should be familiar with the breed characteristics and accept her as she is. For Otti, we wish for a home that might be a bit more rural, as she can better fulfill her needs there. Her new family should be aware that Otti has not yet known life in a loving family. She still needs to learn the entire puppy ABC, and puberty is on the horizon. There will be a lot of love, patience, and possibly a visit to a positively working dog training class to support her journey and forgive her the occasional mishap. Leash walking, house training, and being left alone must still be taught to her. During puberty, she will certainly test boundaries and perhaps forget some things she has learned. But after this phase is over, Otti will surely be a great life partner. We hope she now gets to experience the beautiful sides of life and learns that there are people who only want the best for her. Otti is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-free. She has an EU pet passport and can meet her new family after a successful foster home placement. We would also be very happy to place Otti in a temporary foster home! Otti could be ready to meet her new family by the end of May. Who will give her a loving forever home? A heartfelt thank you goes to Elke F., who named Otti. Current status: May 16.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 22.10.2026

About Otti

What life with Otti looks like

Otti is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Otti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Otti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Otti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Otti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Otti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Otti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Otti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
