adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Ottilie has found her home! Her story: Ottilie is ready to pack her bags. Ottilie is approximately 3 months old and currently about 27 cm tall. When fully grown, she is expected to reach a medium to large size. Ottilie is part of a whole gang of rascals that also include her siblings Ziva, Oliver, and Easy. Slowly the rascals are getting bigger and are now on the lookout for their families. Ottilie immediately captivates with her fluffy ears and cute face. She is very puppy-like, very playful. She is very friendly and open towards people and other dogs. Whether she gets along with cats has not yet been tested. Taking in a puppy is a wonderful enrichment. However, one should also be aware of the responsibility and work involved beforehand. Ottilie is of course no exception. She still has to learn everything. The rules of a household, going on a leash, everyday situations, and much more. And now we are looking for the right family. We wish for Ottilie people who will raise her with love and consistency. Also, a visit to a positively working dog training class is a great opportunity for both the dog and the human to strengthen their bond and to take the common path under professional guidance. Do you want to give Ottilie the home she deserves? Then contact us. A foster home is also a great stepping stone for the soft-nosed Ottilie. Right now during the winter, Ottilie travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with her EU companion animal passport. Stand: 04.01. A big thank you also goes to Katja. Thank you for giving Ottilie this magical name.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 04.01.2026

About Ottilie

What life with Ottilie looks like

Ottilie is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ottilie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ottilie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ottilie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ottilie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ottilie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ottilie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ottilie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
