OXA – 1 an – ♀︎

Mixed Breed · Female

I am Oxa. I am a one-year-old Malinois mix, and I live with intense energy. I am young, still in construction, and sometimes find it hard to manage all I feel. I love people. Adults, children, visitors… I am always happy to meet new faces. I easily create bonds and seek a lot of contact, sometimes a bit too much. When I am content, I can let myself go and forget that not everyone has my energy. But when I take my time, I know how to create beautiful, gentle, and intimate relationships. Outside, I am a true adventurer. I love walks and everything the world has to offer. I am curious about everything, and it must be acknowledged that I have a tendency to want to taste what I find on the ground. Walks are thus also opportunities to learn to make better choices. With other dogs, I am social. I love playing, running, sharing, sometimes lacking finesse in my way of entering into relationships and sometimes having trouble understanding when a dog wants a bit of space. At home, once my needs are met, I show a completely different face. I am tender, affectionate, loving hugs, moments of intimacy. I quickly understand the rules of life and make rapid progress when guided with kindness. Today, solitude is what asks the most of me. I am not yet comfortable when I find myself alone, and separations remain difficult for me. Little by little, I learn that departures are not definitive and that my humans always return. I am a big teenager full of emotions, awkwardness, desires, and energy. I need humans who will understand that my current difficulties do not define the dog I will become. I am looking for a family ready to grow with me. People patient, invested, who will want to help me become the wonderful dog I am already becoming. In exchange, I promise that no day will pass without me reminding you how joyful life can be when lived fully. They say some dogs leave more than a paw print in a house… they transform it, just by being there. So fill out a form for me quickly:

About OXA – 1 an – ♀︎

What life with OXA – 1 an – ♀︎ looks like

OXA – 1 an – ♀︎ is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Association Ron'Rhône in Lyon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting OXA – 1 an – ♀︎, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about OXA – 1 an – ♀︎?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Ron'Rhône handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw OXA – 1 an – ♀︎ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt OXA – 1 an – ♀︎ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Ron'Rhône will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is OXA – 1 an – ♀︎ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if OXA – 1 an – ♀︎ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Ron'Rhône early rather than rehoming privately; they know OXA – 1 an – ♀︎ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
