Adopt Ozzy

Ozzy_3 Ozzy_1 Ozzy_4 Ozzy_5 17.04.2026 Our beautiful Ozzy did not have an easy start in life. As a young dog, he spent almost his entire life up to this point confined to a crate, that is, 24/7 – day and night. However, the years of suffering had not yet come to an end. Not only was he confined to the crate, but he also had to endure his own excretions. A daily life of mistreatment, hardly imaginable – unbearable for any animal. Finally, Ozzy's misery came to an end when he was seized by the authorities and now has the chance at a better life. Due to his difficult past, Ozzy has not had the chance to experience much so far. Therefore, new situations initially make him insecure and skeptical, but he warms up quickly and shows his true nature: a friendly, loving, and gentle boxer who greatly enjoys the company of humans. For Ozzy, we wish for a quiet rural home with empathetic people who understand his past and give him the time he needs to adjust to his new life. We see Ozzy as a single dog in a household without children or other animals. Although he is generally not incompatible, he currently needs a protected space to feel safe. The male dog already runs well on a leash and likes to orient himself to his human. The garden in the new home should be enclosed so that he can move stress-free. It is understandable that Ozzy still finds being left alone very difficult, and then he shows his separation anxieties. Therefore, Ozzy needs a family that has a lot of time for him and gradually leads him to being alone and into everyday life so that he can finally lead a beautiful dog life. Ozzy_3 Ozzy_1 Ozzy_4 Ozzy_5 17.04.2026 Unser schöner Ozzy hatte keinen leichten Start ins Leben. About Ozzy

What life with Ozzy looks like

Ozzy is a young adult dog waiting at Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland in Hiddenhausen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ozzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ozzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ozzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ozzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ozzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ozzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ozzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
