adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this dog now! Pablo has found a home! His story: Pablo has a story that touches the heart. Once, he came to the shelter with his friend Mascha. The two were soulmates. But while Mascha found her family and left last year with great joy, Pablo was left alone behind. Mascha’s new owner never forgot him – she kept asking about him, hoping and wishing that Pablo would also find his home soon. Yet, no one showed interest in the gentle male dog. This couldn’t continue – and so, finally, Pablo was allowed to travel as a foster dog to Mascha. Their reunion was heartwarming! Today, Pablo lives in his foster home, where he gets along wonderfully with Mascha and another dog. He shows himself to be a balanced, loving dog who greatly enjoys the company of people. Whether adults or small children, Pablo is always friendly, gentle, and grateful for every pat. He walks nicely on a leash, is house-trained, and loves to ride in the car. He is also compatible with other dogs, and children pose no problem for him. Pablo is about 7 years old, weighs around 35 kg, and with his 60 cm shoulder height, he has a distinguished appearance – perhaps a German Shepherd- or Rottweiler-mix. But his nature is soft and warm. He is a quiet companion who touches every heart with his gentle gaze. Of course, Pablo still has a lot to learn – family life is new to him. But with patience, love, and security, he will quickly understand what it means to be home. What does Pablo wish for? A home that welcomes him as warmly as he was welcomed in the foster home – with open arms, a warm heart, and lots of time for cuddle moments and beautiful walks. A place where he can stay forever. Pablo is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and has an EU pet passport. He waits in his foster home for your visit.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Was Pablo sich wünscht? About Pablo

What life with Pablo looks like

Pablo is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pablo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pablo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pablo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pablo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pablo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pablo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pablo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
