Adopt Paddy – 1 year old Male

Whippet · Male · Young · 1 year

Hiya! My name’s Paddy, and I’m a 1 year 6 month old Whippet! I’m basically a zoomies expert, professional toy chaser, and full-time fun machine. If you’re looking for a best friend who will keep you smiling, I might just be your guy. I’m a super sweet boy with a BIG personality. One of my favourite things in the whole world is my toys — especially my stuffed teddies! You’ll often catch me happily running around with a teddy in my mouth, showing it off like it’s my greatest treasure. Whether it’s racing around outside, playing games, or carrying my favourite toy from room to room, I’m happiest when I’m having fun with my humans nearby. And once I’ve burned off my zoomies? I’m more than happy to curl up for cuddles and soak up all the love and attention. Because I’m still a young boy, I’ll need a home that can help me continue learning with a little bit of training and guidance. The good news is I’m clever, eager to please, and still at that age where I can learn quickly — so with a bit of patience and consistency, I’ll make a wonderful companion in no time. I could potentially live with another dog, as long as slow introductions are carried out to help us become the best of friends. Being a sighthound, cats really aren’t my thing, so I’m looking for a cat-free home please. If I’m joining a family home with children, the kennel team recommend ages 7+ because I can get a little bit giddy and jumpy when I’m excited! My brother Max is also looking for his forever home. If someone was willing to welcome both of us together, that would be absolutely ideal — but we would also be happy being rehomed separately if the right homes come along for us. The kennel team are still getting to know me, so they’ll update my profile as they learn more about my personality, likes, and all the things that make me special. I’ve got lots of love to give and would thrive in a home that can keep up with my playful energy and adventurous spirit. If you’re after a loyal, loving, and entertaining companion, come meet me — I promise life is never boring with Paddy around! 🐾 My adoption fee is £350.

About Paddy – 1 year old Male

What life with Paddy – 1 year old Male looks like

Paddy – 1 year old Male is a large young adult whippet dog waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

Frequently asked

Adopting Paddy – 1 year old Male, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paddy – 1 year old Male?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paddy – 1 year old Male on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paddy – 1 year old Male if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paddy – 1 year old Male already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paddy – 1 year old Male isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paddy – 1 year old Male and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
