Adopt Pam

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

General information: microchipped and vaccinated, mixed-breed dog, short thick coat, white gray and some brown streaks. Currently not spayed, will be spayed before adoption placement. Temperament: Pam is a dog that is cautious with strangers, especially certain figures such as men, with more difficulties when on a leash rather than off. It needs to gain a little confidence before trusting. Although it was caught on our territory, it has some characteristics typical of dogs from southern Italy. It probably had few experiences, and it will need to be guided slowly to get to know the world better. Used to wearing an H harness, although in some situations a anti-escape harness would be more appropriate. Ideal adoption: Better for people with experience with shy or cautious dogs. Recommended family environments and quiet living situations with the possibility of taking her for walks in green areas often. We do not exclude well-behaved children towards animals. Adoption placement is also acceptable in the presence of another dog that is experienced and has a good relationship with people and the outside environment to serve as a good guide; a character compatibility test will be required to be carried out in the dog shelter in the presence of an operator. Although we do not exclude apartment living, it would be more suitable for a house with a garden, living inside with the family and ensuring the necessary daily outings for its physical and psychological well-being. In a house/garden it could act as a guard towards strangers. background:

About Pam

What life with Pam looks like

Pam is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at ENPA Monza e Brianza in Monza.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pam, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pam?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ENPA Monza e Brianza handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pam on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pam if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ENPA Monza e Brianza will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pam already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pam isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ENPA Monza e Brianza early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pam and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
