Pancho II

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Why Pancho doesn't just have the name Pancho, but Pancho II. I don't know, but perhaps there was already a dog named Pancho owned by his owners, and our lovable new arrival stepped into the footsteps of a lost friend of his owners. Pancho II. had a wonderful home with a kind elderly couple who cared for him selflessly. Unfortunately, the seniors, like so many others, hadn't considered what would happen to their family member when they were no longer physically able to go for walks every day... This exact situation occurred and Pancho's owners were desperate because the life they could offer their best friend did not at all match the cheerful and athletic Pinscher mix. Since they couldn't find anyone who could take the friendly and very well-balanced, only four years old (as of 11/2022) male dogs from them, the sad couple turned to Arconatura Linares - and now the people-oriented and apartment-trained Tricolor gentleman has to experience life in an animal shelter. Pancho II is a thoroughly kind guy who quickly gets used to the little varied daily routine of Arconatura Linares. He has quickly found two- and four-legged friends and shows great gratitude for every affection. It is noticeable that Pancho has not lived in a family with many children, he is rather a quiet and very easygoing companion for a Pinscher. If he were to come to an active household, the cheerful companion would certainly adapt quickly, because generally Pancho is not opposed to playing and roughhousing, he simply had very few opportunities to exercise his inner playfulness in his previous life. Therefore, Pancho can fit into both an active and young household, but he is also used to adjusting his walks to a more leisurely pace and not running around everywhere and everyone when he plays with his ball in the apartment. Our slightly over 50cm tall heartbreaker is open to any career, he just wishes (and we do too) to soon be able to leave behind the world of fences, grilles and cold concrete floors.

About Pancho II

What life with Pancho II looks like

Pancho II is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pancho II, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pancho II?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pancho II on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pancho II if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pancho II already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pancho II isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pancho II and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
