Adopt Pasha

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

We would like to introduce you to Pasha, a kind, energetic lady of 9 years. Pasha is a mixed breed herder. Pasha came here through an exchange with another shelter. She was already in the other animal shelter for 3 years! Now we are trying to find a nice home for her. Pasha is a kind dog, listens very well but is not a dog for beginners. She can be a bit stubborn and has some difficulties with men. Here in the shelter, she gets along well with new people and is super loving and fond of her caregivers. Other dogs and young children are not a match for Pasha. Therefore, we are looking for a quiet household for her, with 1 or 2 people, without other pets. We expect that Pasha can be alone for a few hours once she is used to her new home. She is given special food for sensitive stomachs, and as long as she gets this food, she has no complaints. Do you have experience with dogs and knowledge of dog behavior? Do you have a quiet household without young children and other dogs? Then think about Pasha! This sweetheart deserves to find a place of her own for her remaining years. She is extremely kind and listens really well. Are you interested in Pasha? Then contact us via email and fill out the questionnaire below: – What are your address/contact details (preferably including postcode and phone number)? – How much time would the dog have to be alone (e.g., in relation to work, now and in the future)? – What is your family composition (couple, children, alone)? – What kind of house do you have (terraced house, semi-detached, garden etc)? – Do you have any other pets? – Do you have experience with dogs? – Would you take the dog to a training class? – Is there anything else you would like to tell us about your situation, positive aspects, or nice things for us to know about you? From Pasha, very kindly, until we meet again! Stichting Dierenopvang Hengelo Zilverstraat 30 7554 NH Hengelo 46 .75.18.812 RSIN:

About Pasha

What life with Pasha looks like

Pasha is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Dierenopvang Hengelo in Hengelo.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pasha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pasha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenopvang Hengelo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pasha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pasha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenopvang Hengelo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pasha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pasha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenopvang Hengelo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pasha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
