Adopt Zola

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

I am a very cute Angora rabbit. My personality is loving, calm, and gentle, and I enjoy being petted. If I am approached calmly and given some time to get used to your presence, I can then greatly enjoy being petted. I will lie down comfortably with my head flat on the ground and visibly enjoy it. The staff at the shelter are very kind to me, but I would really like a new owner where I can live with a neutered male rabbit. A family with children is also suitable for me, as long as the children are not too young (starting from 8 years old) and are calm around me. Who can offer me a beautiful future? Please contact my caregivers via email. Stichting Dierenopvang Hengelo Zilverstraat 30 7554 NH Hengelo 46.75.18.812 RSIN:

About Zola

What life with Zola looks like

Zola is a adult mixed breed animal waiting at Dierenopvang Hengelo in Hengelo.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Zola far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenopvang Hengelo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenopvang Hengelo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenopvang Hengelo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
