Adopt Patatin

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Patatín is a 7-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix (although you wouldn't guess it). He was found wandering the streets of one of the towns where we conduct our pickups. He had a owner, but was left to run loose on roads with the consequent risk of being hit by a car. Now we are looking for something much better for him: a safe and peaceful life. Patatin is active and curious. A independent dog who, although he seeks affection, does not like to be invaded or bothered in general, and especially when he is resting. His genetics, combined with handling and education during his puppyhood stages, have possibly made Patatín a dog that, in exciting situations, shows a certain reactivity and sudden mood swings. This reactivity can also be shown on the street when he crosses paths with certain dogs. That's why you will have to give him his space, act calmly, and know what causes him stress, trying to redirect him to relax. If you are an observant person who knows how to anticipate, act as a good reference for Patatín, who can guide and transmit him security, we encourage you to get to know him. 🚫 Not suitable for living with small children. If you believe you can give him the opportunity he needs and help him be the best version of himself, write to us. 🏡💕 Already neutered. Leishmania analysis negative. 4 Idexx test (Ehrlichia, Heartworm, Anaplasma, and borrelia) negative.

Test 4 Idexx (ehrlichia, filaria, anaplasma y borrelia) negativo. Mostrar más de su historia Mostrar menos

About Patatin

What life with Patatin looks like

Patatin is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at ALBA Protectora Madrid in Madrid.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Patatin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Patatin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ALBA Protectora Madrid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Patatin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Patatin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ALBA Protectora Madrid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Patatin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Patatin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ALBA Protectora Madrid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Patatin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
