Adopt PAUL

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 10 months

Name: PAUL Gender: Male Born: February 2022 In the shelter since: 09.10.2025 Origin: Euthanasia Station Compatible with children: Has not met children yet Compatible with dogs: yes Vaccinated and microchipped: yes EU Pet Passport: yes Paul has lived in our shelter since October 2025 and has made impressive progress. When we rescued him from the euthanasia station, his joy was boundless – full of energy and enthusiasm, he greeted us with leaps and bounds. This joy still shines within him. The large male dog is highly people-oriented, very cuddly, and loves attention. At the same time, PAUL brings a temperamental nature with him and can react impulsively in certain situations. However, he is eager to learn, takes body language corrections well, and has already made beautiful progress – especially in rest training. With other dogs, PAUL is generally compatible, but not always clear in his body language. In dog groups, it can happen that he goes forward and snaps depending on the situation. In direct one-on-one contact, he shows clear relaxation, which makes him a suitable second dog – with a properly structured introduction. He gets along very well with his roommate in the shelter. In new or hectic situations, PAUL sometimes reacts insecurely and more defensively. Therefore, the contact with other dogs is currently still secured. In the shelter, he is learning step by step to handle such situations better. On the leash, PAUL still shows strong pulling, which is likely due to his past. With regular training and sufficient exercise, this will certainly improve. In the home, however, he already shows his best side: calm, relaxed, house-trained, and very pleasant to live with. For PAUL, we are looking for an experienced, confident home with clear structures and affectionate, consistent leadership. Due to his size and the likely presence of herding dog components, we would like a more rural environment, ideally with a garden. People with experience in handling independent dogs would be perfect for him. Whoever meets PAUL with patience, understanding, and clear guidance will receive a loyal, lively, and cuddly companion by his side. This animal has a history of biting.

About PAUL

What life with PAUL looks like

PAUL is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting PAUL, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PAUL?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PAUL on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PAUL if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is PAUL already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PAUL isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know PAUL and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
