PAULE

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

PAULE - a very special emergency case - 3 years old, SH approximately 70 cm, born around July 2023. - Vaccinated, chipped, EU passport. - Waiting in France! - PAULE is young, friendly and sociable - but he is still a very special emergency case. Animal welfare workers rescued four puppies from an abandoned property where they were only occasionally cared for. Three of the puppies were quickly rehomed, but PAULE was the shyest one and had been pushed away by the meager food. As a result, he was not only too thin, but also so weak that he could hardly walk. We took him in; he came to Germany to a great foster home. There he gained weight, built up his muscles, and we found through an examination with an orthopedic surgeon that he does not have joint problems, but simply suffers from the consequences of long-term malnutrition. At first glance, you probably won't notice any abnormalities. PAULE is a Patou mix anyway, so he is no speedster dog, but rather laid back. We can send videos via WhatsApp to serious interested parties. A Patou belongs to the herding dogs, but we only have breeding lines from show lines here; he would probably be dead of fright if he were to live outside and protect sheep from wolves. PAULE has flat feet, so to speak. That also exists in humans 😉 and is not a character flaw. But since he will grow quite large, it cannot be ruled out that he may have problems later on. He might need painkillers or physiotherapy - no one can say for sure at the moment. We can only guarantee that he is an amazing dog who is worth putting in some extra effort to help him. Here's a description of the foster home: He loves lying outside, whether it's in the winter garden or outdoors when it's not raining. In these situations, he keeps an eye on things and reports suspicious sounds, movements, and other things. However, he also loves family time, comes to cuddle, play, and values sleeping with the rest of the pack in his bedroom. He is completely compatible with all dogs, but won't let them steal his chew toys. We humans can take everything away from him at any time. He likes being groomed and loves water. By now, he has also gotten used to car rides. PAULE wants people with a ground-level house that has a well-fenced property. Although he is quite independent, he absolutely wants to enjoy real family time. Another dog would be great for providing PAULE the exercise he currently gets. Due to his handicap, he will probably never jog or ride a bike, but long walks are no problem and also necessary to further strengthen his muscles. So far, PAULE shows no hunting instinct and can be called back easily. More info and contact: Ingrid Belz - email: - - www.joshi2.de

PAULE - ein ganz besonderer Notfall - 3 J.,., SH ca. 70 cm, geb.ca. 07.2023. - geimpft, gechippt, EU-Paß. - wartet in Frankreich ! Kontakt: Ingrid Belz - email: - - www.joshi2.de – -

About PAULE

What life with PAULE looks like

PAULE is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting PAULE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PAULE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PAULE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PAULE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is PAULE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PAULE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know PAULE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
