Pauli

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Pauli, a beautiful young dog, was born in July 2026 and is expected to reach a height of approximately 50 cm when fully grown. He currently measures around 30-35 cm. Like all young dogs, he is full of curiosity, joy, and energy. He wants to discover the world, learn with his humans, and experience many beautiful adventures. We are looking for a loving forever home or a foster home for this handsome young boy. People with patience, time, and a passion for teaching a young dog the important things in life would be perfect for him. Pauli is still a puppy and is at the beginning of his life. He is not familiar with life in a home. He needs to learn everyday noises, car rides, house training, leash walking, and being alone. Therefore, we are looking for people who not only have space in their home but also time, patience, and a passion for teaching a young dog the world. People who will lovingly accompany him, give him security, and support him as he grows up. A young dog like Pauli brings work with it, but also many beautiful moments, shared adventures, and a lot of love. Whoever chooses him takes responsibility for the next 14 to 15 years and gains a loyal companion by their side. Pauli is vaccinated and microchipped and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary check. He is not spayed/neutered due to his age. He can be adopted immediately. Please note that our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so we can always assess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us to convey a good picture of each individual dog. However, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new routines, and new impressions - can also behave differently. This is normal and is part of any change process. Many dogs open up in their new home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter. Our assessments are based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They are intended to provide guidance and show how the dog presents himself in the shelter - and what potential he has. We are convinced that with patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find his way and develop positively.

About Pauli

What life with Pauli looks like

Pauli is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pauli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pauli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pauli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pauli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Pauli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pauli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pauli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
