PAVO &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male

Hello, I'm Pavo! I'm a 2-year-old Yorkshire terrier mix, as funny and resourceful as I am sensitive. Don't let my small size fool you, I'm a real little adventurer. I love running, jumping, and rolling around in anything that smells bad enough to warrant my attention. I have a real talent for finding objects within reach. Socks, pens, towels, or toothbrushes can quickly join my personal collection. Behind my energy, however, is a very sensitive dog who observes everything around him. I can be overwhelmed by noise, movement, and when I don't know how to handle a situation, I can bark or try to get away. I will need a family that can anticipate my difficulties, respect my distance, and accompany me without rushing me. The city and crowded places are not for me: I will be more comfortable in a quiet and low-traffic environment. With humans, I need some time to feel completely at ease. I can seek contact while being anxious, and if I freeze or show my teeth, I'm not looking for conflict, I'm explaining that the situation is becoming uncomfortable and that I need space. Once I feel confident, I am extremely affectionate and very attached to my human. With dogs, I can be very intense when I approach, then I calm down once the contact is established. I can have good interactions and enjoy their company, but I still lack restraint and some dogs can be destabilized by my energy. I live with cats. A cohabitation can be considered with a cat that knows dogs and has the possibility of retreat. I like to create small shelters under furniture, where I can rest and feel protected. When I settle there, my need for tranquility must be respected. I'm looking for a patient home that will take the time to understand my communication. I'm a little anxious dog who still needs to learn that the world can be safe, my human will have to listen to everything I try to tell him without speaking.

About PAVO &#8211

What life with PAVO &#8211 looks like

PAVO &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Association Ron'Rhône in Lyon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting PAVO &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PAVO &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Ron'Rhône handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PAVO &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PAVO &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Ron'Rhône will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is PAVO &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PAVO &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Ron'Rhône early rather than rehoming privately; they know PAVO &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
