PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde Birthdate: ca. 2012 Shoulder height: 30 cm. neutered: no. Gender: male Origin: Romania Current location of the dog: foster home Child-friendly: yes Cat-friendly: he has experience with cats and occasionally hunts them. Gets along with other dogs: yes Disability: nearly complete hearing loss PAW seeks his heart's people ♥ Paw came to Germany in September for a foster home. He has settled in well over time, but due to age and health, it took a bit longer. The little one is a rambunctious senior who likes to assert his own opinion in a charming way. He still enjoys taking short walks and is excited about every mouse hole ;-). With other dogs, especially the ladies, he has no problems, and he now rides in the car without a fuss. However, he is not a fan of the vet, where the senior can sometimes become grumpy. What no one can hold against him is that when he came to Germany, he wasn't in the best shape. He had a cold, and when we went to the vet, two more diagnoses came up. His teeth were in poor condition, and he had a testicular tumor. Of course, we had both operated on… when he was under anesthesia, they also took an X-ray because he was still coughing. Paw has a enlarged heart, which is why he coughs. We are currently working on getting that under control. Initially, we wanted to give him a few weeks of recovery time. This time has been used, and now he is even more settled, taking more and more part in his surroundings and finding food and treats quite delightful ;-). For that, he even becomes the clown :-). Paw is a patient and quiet retiree who likes to take naps:). He doesn't like going up the stairs, but the sweet senior would rather be carried up. Going down the stairs, however, is a piece of cake for him :-). We wish and hope for Paw a quiet home where he can enjoy his retirement without too many expectations, where he can simply be himself at his own pace. He would also work well as a single dog or with an existing dog. By the way, his deafness is barely noticeable. He usually orientates himself based on his primary caregiver. Still, one should approach him with care and caution because he might get startled :-). Our dogs travel vaccinated, microchipped, neutered (if they are in the required age), with a vaccination certificate to their new home.

About PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde

What life with PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde looks like

PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutz La Palma e.V. in Hüllhorst.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz La Palma e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz La Palma e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz La Palma e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know PAW entzückender kleiner Rüde and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
