Adopt Pele

Male · Senior · 9 years

Pele is a house dog. His owner gave him to someone for care due to a trip and is currently not answering the phone, so the dog has to re-adjust to life. It's hard to believe and sad that someone abandoned him, because he is affectionate - surely he doesn't really know what happened, why he ended up in such a noisy place and why he isn't getting more attention. Fortunately, he is doing well. He is a real energy and movement. Going for a walk with Pem, be sure to take a long leash and be prepared for a long walk. Our entrance to the enclosure is joy and barking - no wonder, because it's a preview of what Pele likes most - running, sniffing, searching and checking all the bushes in the area. We walk in the park, forests and fields are a great source of smells for Pele, he also does very well on the sidewalk by the street. The guy is well-groomed, has a shiny coat. He is also of exceptional beauty and makes great faces for the camera. Diagnostic is ongoing, but it seems that he is in quite good condition.

Pele to pies domowy.

About Pele

What life with Pele looks like

Pele is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pele, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pele?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pele on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pele if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pele already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pele isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pele and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
