Pepe

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Pepe is a clear favorite among the staff. He has a heart of gold and spreads golden dust around him. Always ready for closeness and coziness. Always ready for some play or a walk. Pepe is a slightly larger, cuddly guy - when he stands against his favorite people and puts his paws on their shoulders, they can basically look each other straight in the eyes. If he feels uncertain at any point, he seeks staff reassurance that everything is ok. Pepe is a kind, affectionate and good-natured guy who will become a very special friend to someone. He is soft and friendly to be with and expects the people he meets to be just as nice. When Pepe sets off on his long legs, not many friends follow him. This guy looks forward to Swedish meadows and forests where he can "live life", preferably with other dog buddies. He has a fantastically fine way towards other dogs and has several times acted as support for scared dogs. There, Pepe conveys warmth and friendship and also shows his fine attitude towards the staff which helps his friend. Pepe has met several of the kennel's cats and even there had a friendly and calm attitude. To our kind-hearted Pepe, we are now looking for the home where you welcome him with open arms. The home should not have city layout and you should have plenty of time to socialize yourself. Connection to beautiful hiking areas is important and also that you yourself enjoy nature. Pepe would very much like to live with a calm and secure dog companion who can then be his guide in the new life - preferably a nice girl who likes other dogs. If there are children, they must not be under school age. Be aware that Pepe, like most of our dogs, has grown up in a very protected environment. Therefore, he should never be pressured where he feels insecure - in new environments and among new people. Let the progress come at his own pace. Låt framstegen komma i hans egen takt. About Pepe

What life with Pepe looks like

Pepe is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundhjälpen in Stockholm.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pepe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pepe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundhjälpen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pepe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pepe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundhjälpen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pepe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pepe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundhjälpen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pepe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
