Pepper

Male · Baby · 4 months

Pepper, a gorgeous young rabbit, is friendly, curious and very responsive to training, making him the perfect companion for a loving home. Since being in foster care, he has settled in well and enjoys exploring the home beyond his pen, although he is slightly worried about laminate flooring and prefers a soft over foot flooring. He has started responding to his name, when followed by his favourite treats of kale or Forage, and enjoys lots of binkis and relaxing naps. He likes to sleep in his pen with blankets or on carpets. He has been doing well with using his litter tray to go to the toilet and has grown in confidence but he does still struggle with being picked up. With time and patience this could change but does mean he would be more suitable with children 10+ (potentially 8+ with previous experience) He would benefit from carrier training to aid transitions from places/vet visits. About Pepper

What life with Pepper looks like

Pepper is a puppy/kitten rabbit waiting at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre in Bristol.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pepper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pepper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol Animal Rescue Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pepper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pepper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bristol Animal Rescue Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pepper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pepper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol Animal Rescue Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pepper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
