Pepper

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 8 months

The little Pepper (born 03/2026 and currently about 43 cm tall) is very urgently looking to move out. Since her sister Venus was allowed to leave the shelter and start her new life, Pepper seems much sadder. That is why we now urgently wish for this sweet little dog girl to find a loving foster home or, even better, her own forever home. Pepper is a cheerful, open, and playful young dog girl, typical of a puppy. Curious, she explores her surroundings and is happy about every bit of attention she receives. With her friendly nature and sweet gaze, she wins hearts in no time. Like every young dog, Pepper is still at the very beginning of her life and has a lot to learn. Life in a house, fixed routines, and the many noises of everyday life are probably still unfamiliar to her. Whether vacuum cleaner, television, washing machine, or doorbell, all of this will likely be new to the little girl. We are convinced, however, that with the right support Pepper will learn all of these things quickly. Of course, Pepper cannot yet stay alone. Like every puppy, this has to be built up slowly, step by step. That is why we are looking for people who have enough time, patience, and joy in teaching Pepper everything a happy family dog needs to know. People who gently take her by the paw, explain the world to her, and safely guide her through her new life. Pepper is still a real puppy and, due to her age, has plenty of mischief in her head. She wants to discover the world, try new things, and will certainly get up to the occasional bit of nonsense. With one paw she is already on the way into adolescence. During this exciting phase of life, boundaries are tested, rules are questioned, and some things that seemed learned are suddenly forgotten again. That is why we are looking for people for Pepper who are aware of this task and ready to go through the beautiful but sometimes challenging times of growing up together with her. We wish for people who see not only the cute puppy girl, but also understand that raising a young dog requires time, patience, and consistency. People who do not give up on Pepper when things get difficult, but give her the security and reliability she needs. For a close bond grows through shared learning, trust, and mastering small and large adventures together. A friendly and confident experienced dog would certainly be a nice support for Pepper, as she could learn a lot by watching and find orientation. However, this is not a requirement. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish for Pepper people who are ready to accompany her on her way into adulthood and to give her a loving home forever. A home where she can arrive, be loved, and never have to be left behind again. Who will finally give this little magic mouse her ticket to happiness? Pepper is vaccinated and microchipped and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary check. Due to her age, she is not yet neutered. General note about our animals: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can repeatedly assess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us greatly in presenting as accurate a picture as possible of each individual dog. However, we would like to point out that a dog may show itself differently in a new environment – with new people, new routines, and new impressions. This is completely normal and part of every process of change. Many dogs even open up more quickly at home and show sides that were not visible at the shelter at all. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in a new environment. They are meant to provide orientation and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter – and what potential lies within it. We are convinced: with patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and continue to develop positively.

About Pepper

What life with Pepper looks like

Pepper is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pepper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pepper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pepper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pepper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Pepper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pepper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pepper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
