Pepsi

Female · Young · 1 year

Pepsi would love to find a quieter home with a family who are willing to help build her confidence. She loves her walkies and walks well on lead, but she does find other dogs worrying and will be very vocal when she sees them. For this reason, she would benefit from owners who are willing to take her out at quieter times and help her with her dog social. Pepsi is housetrained and travels well in the car so could potentially work up to going on fun adventures with her new family. In the home, she loves to play fetch and tug with her toys and cuddle up on the sofa in the evening. We can't wait for her to find her new forever home! Pepsi is a very sweet, loving 1 year old Dachshund X Frenchie. She can be a little bit worried when initially meeting you, but as long as you let her come to you, she'll be jumping in your lap for a fuss in no time. Pepsi would prefer to be the only dog in the home as she can find other dogs worrying, but she is sweet and gentle so could live with older primary school children. Pepsi is still quite young and will need some help settling in the home, but once she is comfortable she can be left for up to 4 hours. Regardless, we do think Pepsi would prefer owners who are around a lot of the time anyway, as she loves to spend time with her favourite people.

About Pepsi

What life with Pepsi looks like

Pepsi is a young adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pepsi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pepsi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pepsi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pepsi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pepsi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pepsi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pepsi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
