Adopt Perri

Pug · Male · Senior · 8 years

Support and Health How much training will I need? Needs ongoing support Can I be left alone? Yes Perri was used to being left in his previous home for a few hours. After a settling in period in a new home this should be able to be built up again. Do I have any medical conditions? None This pet has a clean bill of health and can be fully insured after rehoming. Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? No Can I live with cats? No Can I live with small pets? Yes, conditionally - Perri could potentially live with small pets that are housed securely. Additional information Perri will need to be the only dog in the home, as he can be reactive around other dogs and may bark or pull when he sees them. He will need ongoing management and training around other dogs, and we will demonstrate the techniques we use during a meet and greet. Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Perri can live with children aged 8 years +. He is used to being around children of this age, he is very well behaved with them and enjoys attention from them. What type of environment would suit me? Perri will need to have his own private garden so he can have a space safe to run around off lead. About Perri Perri is looking for his forever home with someone who is going to treat him like the true king he is. He is the sweetest little man who loves nothing more than being close to his people and following them wherever they go. Whether it’s curling up beside you for a quiet evening or simply keeping you company throughout the day, Perri is happiest when he’s included in family life. We think he looks just like a little Tudor king with all of that gorgeous fur around his neck, a proper ruff, pardon the pun, and he certainly carries himself like royalty too. Perri deserves a home where he will be loved, spoiled, and treasured for the wonderful companion he is.

About Perri

What life with Perri looks like

Perri is a small senior pug dog waiting at Woodgreen Pets Charity in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Perri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Perri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Woodgreen Pets Charity handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Perri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Perri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Woodgreen Pets Charity will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Perri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Perri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Woodgreen Pets Charity early rather than rehoming privately; they know Perri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
