PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎

Border Collie · Unknown

My name is Petter. I am a 7-year-old Border cross. I was abandoned and, from one day to the next, all my references collapsed. When you lose your home, you have to relearn many things. Today, I am doing my best to understand this new world and find my place without getting lost. With people, I am deeply affectionate. I like sincere contact, the kind that reassures and calms. I come to seek your hand, I press against you and I could stay like that for a long time. Hugs reassure me, gentle gestures structure me. The short brushing sessions, the moment when you dry me after the rain... feeling that someone takes care of me matters. I am not intrusive, but I need closeness. At home, I am calm and respectful. I sleep in my basket, I don't get on the couch unless allowed, and I learn quickly what is expected of me. I can be alone without destroying or barking. I wait patiently for your return. What can still weaken me are changes and intense emotions. The arrival of guests, frustration, a novelty can destabilize me. When I'm overwhelmed, I can mount. It's an awkward way of saying that I no longer know how to handle what I feel. If you accompany me with consistency and tenderness, I progress. I have a real ability to learn and the desire to do well. On walks, I reveal myself. I am passionate about smells, I take the time to read the ground like an open book. I am comfortable in the city, cars and bicycles don't bother me. With other dogs, I want to interact. I can be reactive to certain intact males and have difficulty letting go when excitement rises, but I have never hurt anyone. Children, I observe without really being interested. Cats, however, are not compatible with me. I feel good in a car and I like to go explore. I also enjoy simple moments: a ray of sunshine, a quiet balcony, an open window looking out at the world. If you take the time to get to know me, you will discover a loyal, sensitive companion deeply attached to his family.

Les câlins me rassurent, les gestes doux me structurent..

About PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎

What life with PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎ looks like

PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎ is a adult border collie dog waiting at Association Ron'Rhône in Lyon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Ron'Rhône handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Ron'Rhône will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Ron'Rhône early rather than rehoming privately; they know PETTER – 8 ans – ♂︎ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
