Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement

Can you adopt during the lockdown? Posted on April 18, 2020 by Brigit Are adoptions possible with an association during the lockdown? The association and our volunteers are confined like all of you. Travel for adoptions is not allowed at the moment. But we continue to work as best we can, to continue our rescues and care. Especially for pregnant kittens or with kittens. This damn virus complicates everything but we continue the fight. So you can certainly send us an email if you fall for one of our cats or kittens or if you have questions. Placements are not possible for now but we can still contact and talk by phone if you are interested in adopting one of our protectees. Possible options in the near future: For now we follow the rules, normal ... and we are waiting for special authorization for movements that would allow us to take the cats to the homes of potential adopters or for adopters to come and pick them up from their foster families. The SPA and "refuge" structures that can welcome the public are now allowed, since recently, to proceed with placements of their animals. We hope this authorization will be extended to all small associations like ours. Even within a limited area. For now, we have already made three "reservations" for adoption for SILVER, ROUDOUDOU and LÉO (adopted before even having time to appear on the blog ... lol) who are eagerly waiting to join their new home; o) We will keep you informed of the developments regarding adoptions with an association. About Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement

What life with Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement looks like

Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at École du Chat de Drancy in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. École du Chat de Drancy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — École du Chat de Drancy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with École du Chat de Drancy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peut-on adopter pendant le confinement and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
