Pflegehund Fiene

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Fiene - Female, estimated age: born around February 2020, estimated height at the shoulder: about 40-49 cm, estimated weight: about 10-14 kg. Learn more about Fiene in this video! Do you trust and love her? Meet her in person in Remscheid, Germany! This furry friend comes from a killing station in Romania. We explain how dogs end up there and much more in our animal welfare FAQ. Fiene was lucky to be able to travel from the Romanian shelter to a German foster home. This has many advantages: here she can get to know her new life in a household and better assess her character. In addition, foster dogs can be visited and met before deciding on an adoption. Fiene is now allowed to arrive at the foster home. As soon as we have more information about her character, we will add it here. If you are already in love with her, please send us a self-disclosure using the button below. In the shelter, Fiene showed herself as a calm and very cautious female who still showed uncertainty when dealing with people. When approached directly, she often reacted with avoidance behavior, appeasement, and could literally freeze. She allowed touches after some time, but showed that closeness was still difficult for her. At the same time, it was also noticeable that Fiene was interested in humans and curious: at the kennel, she sought attention, came forward and let herself be stroked. However, she needed a lot of empathy, because she showed by looking away, licking and an tense body posture that she still had to learn to build trust. Overall, Fiene behaved calmly and unobtrusively. She needed people who could read her signals, did not exert pressure and gave her the time she needed. We are looking for an experienced, quiet home for Fiene, ideally in a rural location, where she can experience security, patience and loving guidance. We wish for this furry friend people who are aware that animal shelter dogs bring a certain history with them. We can never predict at the shelter how a dog will react to life in Germany. That's why we're looking for people who have patience, perseverance and goodwill. But one thing is sure: Whoever adopts instead of buying not only gives an animal a second chance, but actively decides against animal suffering - and for a life with a very special companion by their side. Already in love? Send us your self-disclosure! Adoption If you are thinking about adoption, first read through the placement process. All dogs are vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, flea-free and neutered (except for puppies up to 6 months and very old dogs) before departure. Dogs older than one year are also tested for Mediterranean diseases. If you have any questions, please write a message to our placement team.

In Deutschland seit: Juni 2026 Auf Pflegestelle in: 42899 Remscheid Geschätztes Alter: geb. ca. Februar 2020 Geschätzte Schulterhöhe: ca. 40 – 49 cm Geschätztes Gewicht: ca. 10 – 14 kg Lerne hier Fiene direkt im Video kennen!

About Pflegehund Fiene

What life with Pflegehund Fiene looks like

Pflegehund Fiene is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pflegehund Fiene, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pflegehund Fiene?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pflegehund Fiene on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pflegehund Fiene if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pflegehund Fiene already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pflegehund Fiene isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pflegehund Fiene and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
