Pflegehund Toffee

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Toffee, a male mixed breed dog, has been in Germany since July 2026 and is currently in foster care in Münsingen, Germany. He was born around December 2023 and is estimated to be between 50-59 cm tall at the shoulder and weigh between 25-29 kg. You can watch a video about Toffee here! Toffee is people-oriented, friendly, and curious. Learn more about him in Münsingen, Germany! This dog comes from an animal shelter in Romania. We explain how dogs end up there and much more in our FAQ section on animal welfare. Toffee was lucky to be able to travel from the Romanian animal shelter to a German foster home. This has many advantages: he can get to know his new life in a household and his character can be better assessed. In addition, foster dogs can be visited and met before deciding on an adoption. Toffee is now settling into his foster care. As soon as we have more information about his character, we will add it here. If you are already in love with him, please send us a self-disclosure using the button below. Toffee showed himself to be an open and very people-oriented male dog at the shelter. When entering the kennel, he came up friendly and wagging his tail, let himself be stroked directly and enjoyed the attention visibly. At first, he seemed a bit excited, but quickly calmed down and was able to relax well. He now even demands pats by snuggling up or putting his paw on your arm. A home is being sought for Toffee, where he can be both mentally and physically exercised and at the same time allowed to rest. People who enjoy working with him and promoting his friendly, approachable nature will find in him a pleasant companion. We are looking for people who are aware that rescue dogs bring a certain history with them. We can never predict how a dog will react to life in Germany at the shelter. That's why we look for people who have patience, perseverance and goodwill. But one thing is sure: those who adopt instead of buying not only give an animal a second chance, but also actively decide against animal suffering - and for a life with a very special companion by their side. Already in love? Send us your self-disclosure! Adoption If you are thinking about adoption, first read through the placement process. All dogs are vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, flea-treated and neutered before departure (except for puppies up to 6 months and very old dogs). Dogs older than one year are also tested for Mediterranean diseases. If you have any questions, please send a message to our placement team.

Dezember 2023 Geschätzte Schulterhöhe: ca. 50 – 59 cm Geschätztes Gewicht: ca. 25 – 29 kg Lerne hier Toffee direkt im Video kennen! Menschenbezogen, freundlich und voller Neugier! Lerne Toffee in 72525 Münsingen kennen!

About Pflegehund Toffee

What life with Pflegehund Toffee looks like

Pflegehund Toffee is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pflegehund Toffee, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pflegehund Toffee?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pflegehund Toffee on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pflegehund Toffee if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pflegehund Toffee already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pflegehund Toffee isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pflegehund Toffee and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
