Phil is a lovely, sweet boy who can be a little shy at first, but once he gets to know you and learns that you’re someone he can trust, his gentle personality really starts to shine. Phil is currently having treatment for calicivirus, which has affected his mouth. He’s had a number of dental extractions and is currently on medication to help manage things while he recovers. He’s doing well and is expected to make a really good recovery very soon, so please don’t let his current treatment put you off enquiring about him. His new family will be fully informed about his health and ongoing care. Phil is happiest in a quiet, calm home where he can take his time settling in. He gets on well with other cats with a similar gentle nature, and we’d ideally like him to have a feline companion. He’d suit another quiet but slightly playful cat, or potentially one of his friends here at Farplace. He enjoys being brushed, and although he’s a short-haired boy, he’s needed a little extra help with grooming while he’s been having problems with his mouth. Thankfully, this is improving, and he actually rather enjoys a nice brush! Phil has also had some heart murmur concerns noted in the past. Nothing currently gives us major cause for concern, but it is something his new family should be aware of and mention during his routine annual veterinary checks. Phil is a very sweet boy who just needs someone willing to give him a little time, patience and reassurance while he settles. Once he trusts you, you’ll get to see what a lovely companion he really is. Phil needs an indoor-only home. A secure catio or enclosed garden would be a lovely bonus, but isn’t essential. As with all of our cats, Phil will leave Farplace castrated, microchipped and vaccinated, with his flea and worm treatment up to date, and following a full health check. We’ll also provide you with a full copy of his veterinary records to keep for your own records when he goes off to his new home. Indoor-only policy If you feel you could offer this lovely cat the right home, please email for an adoption questionnaire. We can then arrange a home check. We are happy to consider homes up to around two hours’ travel from the rescue. Any further than this can make it difficult for us to offer the support we feel is important after adoption.
