adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Pierre has found a home! His story: In Baia Mare, nine beautiful mixed-breed puppies are waiting for a new home. The little Pierre is a real treasure! Friendly, beautiful, and hopeful, he hopes for a better future, for the first months of his life were spent on the darker side of life. Currently, Pierre lives in a private foster home along with his eight siblings and his brave mother, a beautiful mixed-breed female dog, possibly a Malinois mix. The handsome fellow is currently in safety, but should remain here only as long as absolutely necessary. That's why Pierre quickly got a name and is now searching for loving people who can take him in and give him a permanent home. But we would also be very happy to place him in a foster home where he can take his first steps into an appropriate life. Pierre is only 3-4 months old and still a real baby – cuddly and soft. Pierre's fur is shining white with brown-black spots and a beautiful facial marking. The puppies are likely to reach a large size. The mother of the puppies is likely a Malinois mixed breed. Unfortunately, we don't know the father, so we can't rule out a herding dog influence. For this reason, we are looking for responsible people with experience in handling active and strong-willed dogs. Future owners should bring joy in consistent training, appropriate mental stimulation, and a safe environment so that the little ones can develop into balanced and reliable companions. Although Pierre of course has no experience with life as a house dog and knows nothing about house training or leash manners, the clever Pierre will hopefully learn the Welpen-1×1 quickly. In a few months, he will enter puberty, which will require a lot of patience and consistency from his new human. But with a little humor and a lovingly consistent training style, Pierre will emerge from this phase as a well-trained and self-assured young dog and accompany his family faithfully and reliably in all activities. Pierre will certainly be happy about a visit to a positively working dog training class that will support his self-confidence and bond with his new owner. We wish Pierre loving and patient adopters who ideally already have some experience in dealing with these qualities and can understand what it means to have a strong, self-assured, and young dog as a partner. If you fall in love with the sweet, spotted Pierre and want to offer him an appropriate life, then contact us! After a positive match, our thanks go to the namingsponsor Petra B., who gave Pierre his name. As of: 23.10. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 23.10.2025

About Pierre

What life with Pierre looks like

Pierre is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pierre, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pierre?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pierre on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pierre if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pierre already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pierre isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pierre and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
