Pili Y Mili

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Pili and Mili are two little sisters who arrived at the shelter very scared. Luckily, Pili has found a home where she has been understood and her needs respected; but Mili has not been as lucky... Although she has been at the shelter for over a year, she has not improved much... She still avoids any human contact. She only approaches to greet when she knows you very well. But if you are a stranger, she doesn't dare to leave the kennel... The presence of other dogs is very helpful for her; she feels much safer and gets a bit more confident with them... Still, as soon as a person approaches, she runs away. That's why we are looking for a special adoption: a family with another dog, who can help her move forward and learn that the fear she has doesn't have to be felt anymore; and who has experience with fearful dogs or is willing to work with a lot of patience. If you think you can offer her the opportunity she needs, contact us at 688 78 82 47.

About Pili Y Mili

What life with Pili Y Mili looks like

Pili Y Mili is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Apasos Vitoria in Spain.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pili Y Mili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pili Y Mili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Apasos Vitoria handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pili Y Mili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pili Y Mili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Apasos Vitoria will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pili Y Mili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pili Y Mili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Apasos Vitoria early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pili Y Mili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
