Adopt Pimpa

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 13 years

Pimpa is looking for a home…. We know that an excellent adoption can also be found for her.... this little grandma deserves a new family. Pimpa arrived at the animal shelter after the disappearance of her owner. Her conditions were certainly not the best, but thanks to the help of our friends Annalisa and Andrea from Toelettatura Mestre "oasis of the dog", Pimpa is now free from that burden of fur and dirt that "wrapped" her. We have done a long series of checks to verify her health conditions and everything is now in order. Pimpa is 13 years old, spayed, very good with other dogs, both males and females. Definitely, having lived with an elderly person, she needs a quiet environment, so better no children. She loves cuddles but without being handled too much and she gladly goes out to run around on the lawn. If you have the possibility to donate the warmth of a home to Pimpa, we await you at the animal shelter to meet her. She is located at the animal shelter of San Giuliano di Mestre.

Pimpa cerca casa….

About Pimpa

What life with Pimpa looks like

Pimpa is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at ENPA Mira — Il Rifugio del Cane (Venezia) in Venezia VE.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pimpa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pimpa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ENPA Mira — Il Rifugio del Cane (Venezia) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pimpa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pimpa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ENPA Mira — Il Rifugio del Cane (Venezia) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pimpa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pimpa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ENPA Mira — Il Rifugio del Cane (Venezia) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pimpa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
