Piñato ciaam

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

ALBA as a member of FAPAM (Federación de Asociaciones de Rescate de Animales de Madrid) manages the CIAAM (Centro Integral de Acogida de Animales de Madrid) along with other rescue associations. Given the large number of animals in their facilities, to avoid overcrowding and over-saturation of their center, and to increase their chances of being adopted, we have decided to include information about some of the animals living in our animal shelter on our webpage. Piñato is one of them. Piñato is a dog who had bad experiences with his previous owners. He lived with a muzzle because they said he broke things. They took it off twice a day so he could eat and drink...and that's how he lived since puppy. Of course, without a microchip or vaccinations. He had never been taken to a veterinarian. One day they got tired of him and took him to the Town Hall, saying they had found him. When he arrived at our Center, we realized from his behavior that no one on the street would take a dog like Piñato. He arrived defending himself from all the humans around him; we were an absolute threat. He didn't want anything to do with anyone. When we learned his story, we understood this poor dog; it was impossible for him to want us...but we had to and still have to try to give him a family. Piñato has to learn that traumas, one day, can disappear and that there are many humans who can teach him many good things, love, and tranquility. He was very stressed in the kennel enclosure, so we tried to walk him often. Piñato must think that we freed him from a muzzle and put him in jail; it's not what we would like, but at least he knows we care. We have worked a lot with him. He trusts one of his caretakers, who understands him perfectly, and he is letting himself be loved. At first, he wasn't prepared to have a harness put on and would snap, but now, he associates it with something positive and pleasant: going for a walk; and he lets it be put on very well. This way, he should learn everything in life to start trusting and becoming a normal dog. He is a dog that, as soon as he gains confidence and starts to love you, asks for petting, gives little kisses. He loves to eat a lot, he's a glutton!! To ask for treats, he stands in front of us, moves his tail very fast so we give him the treat as soon as possible! He enjoys his walks a lot, going very happy and smelling everything. Moreover, he goes crazy when you let him out in the yard, stays with him, and runs around the yard. He needs a family with experience and willing to continue teaching Piñato that good things exist, and one day he will forget the muzzle thanks to us. Thanks to a family, he will forget the cage of the kennel enclosure. He does not pass the test with cats. He is already neutered, with negative Leishmania and Ehrlichia analyses.

About Piñato ciaam

What life with Piñato ciaam looks like

Piñato ciaam is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at ALBA Protectora Madrid in Madrid.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Piñato ciaam, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Piñato ciaam?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ALBA Protectora Madrid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Piñato ciaam on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Piñato ciaam if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ALBA Protectora Madrid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Piñato ciaam already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Piñato ciaam isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ALBA Protectora Madrid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Piñato ciaam and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
