Pinceau

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 4 years

Identified by microchip: European type, black and white coat, short hair, neutered, FIV (AIDS) and FeLV (leukemia) negative, vaccinated against panleukopenia and rhinotracheitis. Health: everything is fine. In foster care. Stop what you are doing right now. From this moment on, your only concern is me! Before we begin, I would like to clarify an important point: I am a cat, not a shadow, although I tend to follow my human absolutely everywhere (I don't know intimacy!). Read more... The first time I was spotted, I was sitting in the cold next to an abandoned white Christmas tree just after New Year's. Visibly, this tree represented all that was left of my previous life and it wasn't the only thing no one wanted anymore... After several months surviving outside, a kind lady launched a call for help on social media when she discovered my pretty face with skin missing in places. A volunteer from RCP who had already crossed paths with me recognized me and opened her door. Today I am looking for my family, but not a temporary one, a lifelong one this time. If there's something to know about me, it is that I am very particular about hygiene, especially yours! What are your Tapipi showers, Palmoulive and other Petit Miaouseillais with their effluvia of nasal breeze that make my whiskers shiver and put my sense of smell in PLS? We must live E-CO-LO! I propose natural: a good lick scented with the breath of croquettes. Thanks to my services, you will realize substantial savings on water and shower gels, savings that you can reinvest in an essential expense: my well-being (I told you I like treats?). My main activity? Loving you. A lot. Enormously. Deeply. When I look at you, it's with all the intensity of my little marshmallow heart. Some even say that I have a gaze to melt an iceberg (hello Titanic!). Are your knees created for me to take naps on them (when I decide of course, don't forget that I am a dignified cat!)? Your hands are not busy taking care of my fur? Here you go, a little pat on the paw to remind you that I am here. In my foster family, I get along well with my feline housemates, at least 3 because there is one who rivals Tatie Danielle. I play games of tag with my friend, seduce the ladies (with debatable success) and show patience in the face of the mood swings of each other. But even if I am rather Bisounours, it's not necessary to abuse either. When I was on the street, I was the one who was being bullied by the other cats and I don't want that to happen again. The ideal adopter for me? A gentle, patient, reassuring, playful, affectionate, cuddly biped with enough time to help me settle in. I can be shy at first, do not like screams and sudden movements, my past has taught me to be wary. But when I understand that I am safe and trust is established, I learn quickly. I absolutely need to perfect my splendid musculature (I could feel the vet was in awe of such an athlete's body!) so garden required. Having a nice fellow cat with whom to play from time to time and keep company would be a plus. I hope so much to find this human who will give me the certainty that I will never be abandoned again, neither on a parking lot nor elsewhere. Maybe you? Find Pinceau on the refuge's Facebook page.

About Pinceau

What life with Pinceau looks like

Pinceau is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pinceau, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pinceau?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pinceau on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pinceau if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pinceau already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pinceau isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pinceau and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
