Pinki &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female

Pinki was one day simply there. As an animal rescuer who works as a foster home for the Refugio Kimba, when she opened her door in the morning, Pinki was sitting in the middle of the street, in the middle of the village. Of course, the pretty and friendly Bodeguero-Mix lady was immediately offered sanctuary, and the entire family of the engaged lady set out to ask everyone who Pinki belonged to, but no one knew the well-groomed female dog. At first, Pinki was very sad, waiting for her owners and not knowing what to do with the situation, but she quickly understood that no one was coming to get her – and smart dogs like our Princess Pinki then simply make the best of it. She played with the dogs in the house of the animal rescuer and enjoyed cuddles and walks, and she also shows herself as a real sunbeam after moving into the small family animal shelter of our friends. Pinki has quickly found friends in all sizes, shapes, and colors, she is usually right in the middle of the action instead of just being there, and she is happy when one of the animal welfare workers has time to snuggle or take her on a little walk through the neighborhood. Pinki is only one and a half years old and is open to any kind of career if it promises enough fun and adventure. She quickly and gladly learns to be a terrier and would also be suitable for people who want to take their first steps in dog sports (without having the world championship in mind, because at the end of the day, a terrier is still a terrier!). Even as a warm bottle and cuddle pillow, Pinki shows great talent, and with her practical size, she covers enough lap space to be really cozy and warm in winter, but she is small enough to be lifted to the side when it rings at the door in the middle of a group snuggle. (Believe me, this is a factor to consider – my dogs often weigh more than a hundred pounds, and I have missed the package deliveryman more than once because a belly massage was considered more important than my material needs.) Pinki is athletic, cuddly, clever, affectionate, and is only waiting for a wonderful family to discover her and offer her a home for life. If you are already smitten now – and who wouldn’t be? – you should contact us immediately before someone else does.

DE·Show original

About Pinki &#8211

What life with Pinki &#8211 looks like

Pinki &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pinki &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pinki &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pinki &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pinki &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pinki &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pinki &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pinki &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
