Pinky: male, tabby (Image 1) Motte: female, tabby (Image 2) Sunny: female, tabby (Image 3) Our kittens are looking for a loving home. Our adorable kittens are now ready to move into their new homes. At their age, they’re curious, playful, cuddly, and greet people in a friendly and open manner. With their cheerful nature, they bring lots of life and joy into everyday routines and can’t wait to explore the world together with their new families. Since young cats absolutely need a suitable playmate and social companion for healthy development, we prefer to place our kittens together—ideally in groups of three or at least two. Alternatively, a single kitten can also join an already existing, sociable cat of roughly the same age. This way, the little velvet paws have a fellow feline to play with, learn from, and cuddle with—a factor that’s especially important for their well-being and development. Our kittens are placed exclusively in indoor living situations. A prerequisite is a cat-safe home where windows, balconies, and any other potential hazards are properly secured. A secure balcony or a cat-proof window offers these little ones additional opportunities to safely enjoy fresh air and exciting experiences. Anyone who would like to give our kittens a loving, responsible home and can provide them with plenty of time, patience, and affection will be rewarded with joyful, playful, and affectionate companions. If you’d like to get to know our little protégés better, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Perhaps soon one—or ideally several—of our kittens will enrich your home. If you’re seriously interested in one of our animals, please send us an email with your fully completed preliminary interest form, or contact us via our contact form if you have any questions. Be sure to include a phone number where we can reach you. Please do not come without an appointment! Please leave this field empty. Please leave this field empty. About Sunny und Motte

What life with Sunny und Motte looks like

Sunny und Motte is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Oelzschau in Oelzschau.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sunny und Motte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sunny und Motte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Oelzschau handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sunny und Motte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sunny und Motte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Oelzschau will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sunny und Motte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sunny und Motte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Oelzschau early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sunny und Motte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
