Piñon

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 4 months

Piñón is a puppy born in February 2026 who deserves to leave behind a very difficult start in life for good. He was rescued from a landfill along with Piña, his mother. Both of them survived by eating whatever they could find among the waste, struggling every day to get through. When he arrived, Piñón had significant skin problems, but thanks to good care he has recovered very well and is growing strong and healthy. Despite all the hardships he has endured during his first months, Piñón is showing an enormous capacity to overcome adversity. Each day he gains a little more trust in people, but he still carries many insecurities from his past. He needs patience and understanding. Now all he needs is to find a family to walk this path with him and to show him that the world can also be a safe place, full of affection and opportunities. Ideally, we are looking for a home for Piñón with another dog, or a family experienced with dogs with a complex past. It is also important to note that Piñón is not ready to live in a busy area due to his insecurities.

ES·Show original

About Piñon

What life with Piñon looks like

Piñon is a kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Barcelona) in Protectora Bcn.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Piñon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Piñon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Barcelona) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Piñon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Piñon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Barcelona) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Piñon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Piñon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Barcelona) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Piñon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
