Pintxo

Male · Senior · 9 years

Size:约50cm Pictures and possibly videos: October 12, 2025 We wished that Pintxo could find a family and enjoy his golden years. Unfortunately, the dear little one is severely ill. We barely recognized him during our visit; he has become very thin. Fortunately, Shiva visits him almost daily, and he enjoys her cuddles. He is also well cared for in the private pension. It's still sad... October 11, 2024 Pintxo is a very special senior who deserves a loving home. Despite the challenges he has faced in his life, he exudes a calm and friendly demeanor. He spent many years by the side of his faithful companion in nature and is now ready to become part of a family. At our shelter, his character is closely observed, and we are working to determine how he gets along with other dogs and cats.

About Pintxo

What life with Pintxo looks like

Pintxo is a senior dog waiting at Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten in Arme Pfoten.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pintxo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pintxo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pintxo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pintxo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pintxo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pintxo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pintxo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
