Pipa

Beagle · Female · Senior · 10 years

Pipa is a beautiful beaglet of nearly 10 years. She came to us due to changed living conditions. Pipa is just as happy living freely both during the day and at night. She knows the crate and is calm in the crate. She lived together with a Labrador and that went well, but Pipa must be the boss. Pipa knows the basic commands sit and lie. She is not car-sick. She could stay alone at home for a workday but would rather not. She is house-bred. When she is jealous or bored, she might try to bite something. Pipa had access to the garden, when she could she would try to escape, so the garden must be very securely enclosed. Now Pipa is on the lookout for her golden bed. She can be placed with older children who can handle her in a calm manner. She can be tested with her own calm dog. Pipa is looking for masters who have a lot of time for her and where she doesn't have to be left alone for too long. Who can give her a warm home?

NL·Show original

About Pipa

What life with Pipa looks like

Pipa is a senior beagle dog waiting at Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus in Aalst.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pipa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pipa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pipa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pipa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pipa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pipa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pipa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
