Pipo

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 13 years

Pipo is a Yorkshire terrier cross Spitz. He is a neutered male who arrived at the Oasis in February 2026 due to an environment that was no longer suitable for him. Indeed, Pipo barks when he is alone and his owner was forced to give him up because of the neighbors. He is therefore looking for a single person or a very present family. Moreover, his small size makes him very convenient to follow you everywhere! Pipo has his own little character, especially during handling. But he remains an easygoing and friendly dog with humans and other animals of the same species. However, cats and young children should be avoided. Unfortunately, he has not experienced much in his past life; as a result, he is not always clean and sometimes has accidents when he is sleeping. For the rest of his health, he is fine, but Pipo has had small seizures that do not require treatment at the moment, but could require special attention in the future.

About Pipo

What life with Pipo looks like

Pipo is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Oasis des vétérans.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pipo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pipo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Oasis des vétérans handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pipo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pipo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Oasis des vétérans will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pipo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pipo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Oasis des vétérans early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pipo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
