Pippa

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Pippa was abandoned along with her brother. The two puppies were left in a plastic bag and left to their fate. Fortunately, they were found in time and taken in by us. Pippa has been living in a Romanian foster home for several weeks now and is showing herself to be a friendly and outgoing young female dog. Pippa is people-oriented, cheerful and sociable. She is also open and friendly to strangers. She gets along well with other dogs and is interested in making contact with her fellow canines. Pippa has also already met cats. She is curious about them and has shown no aggressive behavior so far. Pippa is a young female dog who brings a good foundation, but still has a lot to learn. She is not familiar with life in a house, house training, being left alone, leash training, traffic and all the other things that are part of our normal daily routine. In addition, Pippa will be going through puberty in the coming months. Her future owners should therefore be aware that a young dog is not only fun, but also requires time, patience, consistency and effort. Pippa needs people who can guide her reliably, teach her rules and boundaries, and help her build a structured daily routine. Due to her open, friendly and social behavior, Pippa has good prerequisites for this. However, how she develops in her new environment also depends on the experiences she has there and how she is guided. We are therefore looking for people who are willing to accompany a young dog on this journey and are willing to invest the necessary time in education, training and bonding. After a positive preliminary check, Pippa may be vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, flea-free and given an EU pet passport against a deposit of 495 euros to move into her new home.

DE·Show original

About Pippa

What life with Pippa looks like

Pippa is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pippa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pippa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pippa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pippa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Pippa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pippa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pippa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
