Pirin

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

♂, born 6/2024 - joyful - friendly - active in Bulgaria Vermittlungshilfe Pirin is a German Shepherd (Mama)-Jagdhunde (Papa)-Mix rüde born on 15.06.2024 with a shoulder height of ca. 62 cm and a weight of ca. 32 kg Pirin was adopted as a puppy, unfortunately on a leash and later returned. Since April 2025, he has been living in a private, Bulgarian foster home, where he is making up for his delayed puppyhood – with play, attention, and affection that he did not get before and was denied. Pirin is a friendly, intelligent, playful, and socially compatible male dog who loves people and also children very much. He is house-trained, suitable for apartment living, goes super nicely and politely on the leash. Pirin has chosen his box as a retreat and loves to rest in it. We would ideally like a house with a garden for Pirin, so he can have extra play areas in the garden. Because he needs a lot of movement and stimulation. Therefore, his people should also have fun with movement in nature; regardless of the weather. Long, exciting walks must be available daily; to enjoy the cuddle time even more afterwards. A social, compatible only dog can be present; but Pirin can also be rehomed as a single prince to enjoy the full attention of his people. Who has a dog bed for Pirin free and offers a wonderful dog life with everything included? Pirin is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and will be rehomed with a Snap-4-D test. He is in a private foster home in Bulgaria. The adoption fee for Pirin is 460 Euro. Do you have a suitable home for Pirin? ♂, geb. About Pirin

What life with Pirin looks like

Pirin is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pirin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pirin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pirin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pirin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pirin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pirin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pirin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
