Pixel

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Pixel is now 10 mnts old. She loves dogs and would love a companion to play with. We tested her with cats and she was interested but not too sure as our staff cats are pretty big. So dog savvy cats would be fine. She loves walking and is very confident. Her re-call needs more work. Our teenagers love playing with her so that age would suit if present. Pixel would love an equestrian home too as she does love equines and hay barns to play in as she fancies herself as a good mouser. She loves running in and out the bales. Also galloping at high speed through the long grass bouncing up to see ahead. She is just a funny little one who will always amuse you.

About Pixel

What life with Pixel looks like

Pixel is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Haven Ireland in Ireland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Pixel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pixel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Haven Ireland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pixel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pixel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Haven Ireland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Pixel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pixel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Haven Ireland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pixel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
