Ploni

Unknown · Adult · 6 years

Ploni, a handsome tabby cat with a beautiful spotted coat, came to Hokazo as a stray. Her birthdate is estimated to be 26-3-2020. She still finds people exciting. Those who approach her should not expect a cuddle for now. Ploni likes to keep her distance and seeks her own safe place. Ploni needs time to thaw and is therefore looking for a quiet home without young children. She is looking for a patient adopter who does not push her and gives her time to get to know her at her own pace. Just sitting quietly in the same room, not trying to pet her and giving her curiosity room. From there, trust can grow. Ploni is FIV positive. This is the same as HIV in humans, the precursor to AIDS. It does not have to mean that she actually gets AIDS. It is not contagious to humans and other animals, only to cats. Therefore, she cannot be placed with healthy cats and cannot roam freely on the street. Due to FIV, she is a bit more susceptible to infections because her resistance is a bit lower. But with the right care and love, she can still live a long life. Ploni can be placed as the only cat or with a suitable companion who, like her, is FIV positive. Ploni does not ask for a quick introduction. She asks for time. Who gives her that time, can see her discover step by step that a house can also be a safe place. Fill in the contact form or email for more information.

Ploni is FIV positief. About Ploni

What life with Ploni looks like

Ploni is a small adult cat waiting at Hokazo in Uden.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ploni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ploni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hokazo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ploni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ploni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hokazo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ploni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ploni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hokazo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ploni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
