Pluis

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten · 4 months

Pluis is a young kitten of 21 weeks who approaches the world as if everything were an exciting but interesting experiment. She is curious enough to stick her nose everywhere, but wise enough to sometimes hesitate before actually climbing into a plant or diving into a bag. A healthy balance. She is a real playful explorer: running after toys, jumping on invisible enemies and occasionally surprised by her own acrobatic talents. But between all that enthusiasm, she can also find it exciting at times. New sounds, unknown people or an unexpected movement, Pluis takes a step back to assess whether this is part of her plan. Despite that small touch of caution, Pluis is above all a cheerful, energetic kitten who is ready to explore the world. She is looking for a home where she can lose her curiosity, where playing is allowed and where someone occasionally reassures her that the vacuum cleaner is not a monster. In short, Pluis is the perfect combination of courage, charm and a little doubt, just enough to make her irresistible. Because kittens are real companion animals, we always place them in pairs or with a family where there is already a cat. This way they get the support, warmth and playful guidance they need to grow into confident cats. Do you not have a cat yet, but are interested in Pluis? Adopting 2 cats can certainly also!

NL·Show original

About Pluis

What life with Pluis looks like

Pluis is a small puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Dierenopvangcentrum Westland in Netherlands.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pluis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pluis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenopvangcentrum Westland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pluis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pluis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenopvangcentrum Westland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pluis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pluis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenopvangcentrum Westland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pluis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
