Poco

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

🐾 Poco Seeks His Great Fortune 🐾 The young Poco is just about one year old, neutered, and weighs around 12 kg – and yet he has already endured much in his short life. For a long time, he wandered alone through a small village near Larissa. Day by day, he stood on his own, always searching for something to eat, shelter, and a little bit of security. Especially the many cars became a daily danger for him. No one really took care of him, no one protected him. So much the greater his happiness when he was finally rescued in time. Today, Poco is in safety – and yet, he still lacks the most important thing: his own home and people who love him. Despite everything he has experienced, Poco has kept his big heart. He is an incredibly friendly, gentle, and lovable dog who greatly enjoys the company of humans. It is immediately clear how much he longs for attention, security, and affection. When he receives love, he repays it with all his trust. Even with other dogs, Poco is absolutely social and playful. He loves to play with them and enjoy their company. Even cats meet him friendly and uncomplicated. Since Poco has not yet experienced a real home, he naturally does not know much. Life in the house, everyday noises, or fixed routines are new to him. Even dog training 1×1 is something he still needs to learn. But Poco brings the best prerequisites for this: He is open, friendly, and people-oriented. With a little patience, love, and understanding, he will surely learn quickly and develop into a wonderful companion. For Poco, we wish people with hearts who will give him the time to settle in and show him how beautiful a dog life can be. People who will never leave him again and finally give him what he probably has longed for his whole life: safety, love, and his own dog bed. Who adopts Poco, gets no perfect dog – but a lifelong friend who will be grateful every day to finally have arrived.

About Poco

What life with Poco looks like

Poco is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. in Stuttgart.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Poco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Poco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Poco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Poco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Poco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Poco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Poco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
