Polo

Husky · Male · Puppy · 11 months

Polo is a friendly boy who enjoys meeting new people and going on walks. He is a clever boy who knows “sit” and “paw” and has previously been housetrained, he would enjoy learning new things to keep his mind busy. At 10 months old, he is still very much a pup and looking for a loving home to help him develop into the wonderful companion we know he will be Polo is a 10month old Siberian Husky X (Rottweiler X SBT). He is looking for a home where he can be the only pet and could live with children of Preschool age and over. Polo is undersocialised around other dogs, does not always read the other dogs body language and can be OTT in his interaction style. He would benefit from further socialisation training once settled in his new home. Polo is a high energy boy and would like a fairly active lifestyle as well as access to a secure garden so he has space to play. He will need someone at home with him most of the time initially to help him settle in and any leaving hours will need to be built up gradually.

About Polo

What life with Polo looks like

Polo is a puppy/kitten husky dog waiting at Dogs Trust Snetterton in Snetterton.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Polo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Polo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Snetterton handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Polo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Polo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Snetterton will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Polo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Polo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Snetterton early rather than rehoming privately; they know Polo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
