Just a few days ago, Powder was fine. She was lively, kind, and active. For a while, she just couldn’t sit still… And then out of nowhere, she stopped walking on her back legs. The happy girl turned into a sad little boy who just sits there and doesn’t want to take more than two steps. Of course, we immediately got into the car and rushed to the emergency room. X-rays, blood tests, and heart checks—everything came back okay. We had no idea what was wrong. The next inevitable step was to consult specialists in neurology. Initially, we thought a magnetic resonance would be necessary, but Dr. Powder did not recommend it after the initial neurological examination. The problem, according to him, does not stem from the brain or the spine but is directly in the peripheral nervous system. Instead of a magnetic resonance, Powder underwent a round of tests to rule out "external" causes like a tumor. The results were okay, so Dr. Powder leans towards the possibility of an autoimmune disease. Simply put, Powdeřin’s immune system is fighting against its own nerve cells. To confirm the diagnosis, blood samples were sent for analysis in America. While we wait for the blood test results, Powder is on corticosteroids, and we will monitor whether her condition improves. At the same time, she has the task of moving as much as possible and diligently working with her temporary foster mom to keep her muscles from weakening. Although it originally seemed like the problem was only with her back legs, it turned out that her front legs are also weakened. Exercise should help with that. Adopt this animal from a distance and share the journey to a new beginning with him.

Její život se zničehonic obrátil vzhůru nohama. Ještě před pár dny byla Powder v pořádku. Hravá, hodná a akční kočička. Chvíli neposeděla… A pak zčistajasna přestala chodit na zadní nohy. Z veselé holky se stal nešťastný bochánek, který jen sedí a nechce udělat víc jak dva kroky. Samozřejmě jsme okamžitě sedli do auta a pospíchali na pohotovost. Rentgeny, krevní testy i kontrola srdíčka – všechno vyšlo v pořádku. Vůbec jsme nevěděli, co je špatně. Dalším nevyhnutelným krokem proto bylo vyšetření u specialistů na neurologii. Na vině je nejspíš autoimunitní onemocnění Původně jsme počítali s tím, že bude nutná magnetická rezonance, pan doktor ji ale po vstupní prohlídce na neurologii nedoporučil. Problém podle něj totiž nevychází z mozku ani míchy, ale bude přímo v periferní nervové soustavě. Powder místo toho absolvovala kolečko vyšetření, aby se vyloučily „externí“ příčiny jako třeba nádor. Výsledky ale byly v pořádku, proto se pan doktor přiklání k tomu, že na vině je nejspíš autoimunitní onemocnění. Zjednodušeně by se dalo říct, že Powdeřin imunitní systém bojuje proti vlastním nervovým buňkám. Pro potvrzení diagnózy se ještě raději poslaly krevní vzorky na rozbor do Ameriky. Zatímco čekáme na výsledky krve, dostala Powder kortikoidy a budeme sledovat, jestli se stav zlepší. Zároveň má za úkol se co nejvíc hýbat a poctivě s dočasnou tetičkou cvičit, aby jí dál neochabovalo svalstvo. Ačkoliv to původně vypadalo, že problém je jen se zadními nohami, ukázalo se, že má oslabené i ty přední. Cvičení by s tím mělo pomoct. Rodiče na dálku
