Priscilla &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

My name is Priscilla. I am female, neutered, and born around 2007. I am approximately 35 cm tall. I have been waiting since December 2019 for a new home. My caretakers say about me: Priscilla is a seizure from the responsible authority due to poor husbandry, which made the completion of all medical necessities, including the weaning of the little mouse, quite lengthy. Her blood values are excellent, she is now neutered, and an milk duct had to be removed. Additionally, she underwent a complex dental procedure and proper fur care. Priscilla has gained some weight and proves to us daily with her joie de vivre how she enjoys her new life. She requires daily eye ointment, which she accepts gracefully. She lives in a small pack with us, and there are no problems at all. She is not interested in other animals. She runs her rounds neatly and likes it very much when there are occasional cuddle breaks. She walks nicely on a leash and with us, both large and small. Priscilla is looking for a place where she will be spoiled again, preferably ground-level and a house with a garden in the ideal case. Of course, she can also be rehomed in an apartment, but then there should not be too many floors. She would also be happy as a second dog to a character-matched dog. For her, we wish for a nice retired couple or a understanding family. Priscilla is very modest and, given her past, a very grateful dog. Who would like to show the little mouse how wonderful it can be to have a dog with people who do not leave her in the lurch and spoil her again…. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Priscilla &#8211

What life with Priscilla &#8211 looks like

Priscilla &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Priscilla &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Priscilla &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Priscilla &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Priscilla &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Priscilla &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Priscilla &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Priscilla &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
