He arrived with us as a small, emaciated kitten. During the initial veterinary check-up, we discovered he was sick – his tests came back positive for mycoplasma and calicivirus. He left for temporary care with antibiotics. Additionally, Dr. Lady noticed he also had very unsightly broken teeth and will need surgery after his treatment. For the first week, everything seemed to be going well. Profesor Granulka behaved like a typical rescued kitten. He purred a lot, cuddled, played, and a bit grumpily when given his medicine. But then suddenly, there was a drastic worsening. It was as if within a few hours, the lights had been turned off. He stopped eating. He stopped drinking. He stopped playing. He just sat there, looking ahead, loudly snorting, and slowly disappearing from sight. Later, he began vomiting violently… again and again. Of course, we immediately took Professor Profesor Granulka to the vet. He first received an anti-vomiting injection and painkillers for his paw, but when he was still vomiting two hours later, it was clear that wasn’t enough. He had to be hospitalized. During the endoscopy, it was discovered that his paw pad was completely full of leaves. Was he forced to eat them by hunger? Was it perhaps the only thing he could find…? Just imagining it fills us with horror. Currently, Professor Granulka is after the operation and still remains hospitalized. The operation hasn’t concluded yet. He hasn’t won yet, his condition is still critical. But at this moment, he’s alive, and that’s what matters. He’s breathing, his heart is beating. He’s fighting as hard as his weakened body allows. But he can’t do it alone… The funds we receive will be used to purchase food, a litter box, and to cover veterinary and other expenses related to caring for the animals. Lupínek came from hell. Literally. He was born in a breeding facility where the animals were not cared for.

Přišel k nám jako malé, vychrtlé kotě. Při vstupní prohlídce na veterině jsme zjistili, že je nemocný – z testů mu vyšla pozitivní mykoplazma a kaliciviróza. Zpátky do dočasné péče proto odjížděl s antibiotiky. Kromě toho si paní doktorka všimla, že má taky velmi ošklivě polámané některé zuby a po vyléčení bude muset na operaci. První týden probíhal v rámci možností docela dobře. Profesor Granulka se choval jako klasické zachráněné koťátko. Hodně papal, mazlil se, hrál si a trochu se čertil při podávání léků. Pak ale zničehonic přišlo drastické zhoršení. Bylo to jako by během pár hodin zhasl. Přestal jíst. Přestal pít. Přestal si hrát. Jen seděl, koukal před sebe, silně slintal a pomalu se ztrácel před očima. Později začal prudce zvracet… Znovu a znovu. Samozřejmě jsme s panem profesorem hned vyrazili na veterinu. Nejprve dostal jen injekci proti zvracení a léky na bolest bříška, ale když o dvě hodiny později stále zvracel, bylo jasné, že to nestačí. Musel na hospitalizaci. Při endoskopii se zjistilo, že má chudáček bříško úplně plné listí. Muselo se tam dostat ještě před tím, než přišel k nám. Donutil ho k tomu hlad? Bylo snad listí to jediné, co si dokázal najít…? Když si to jen představíme, polévá nás hrůza. Momentálně je profesor Granulka po operaci a dál zůstává na hospitalizaci. Operací to bohužel ještě neskončilo. Pořád nemá vyhráno, jeho stav je stále kritický. V tuhle chvíli je ale naživu a to je to, na čem záleží. Dýchá, srdce mu buší. Bojuje, jak jen mu jeho zesláblé tělo dovolí. Sám na to ale nestačí… Získané finance využijeme na nákup krmení, kočkolitu a úhradu veterinárních a dalších nákladů souvisejících s péčí o zvířátka. Lupínek přišel z pekla. Doslova. Narodil se v množírně, kde na zvířatech nezáleželo.
